:D

Had boil dumpling and tin mackerel for lunch today. very proud of myself :)

went outside in the sun hot....sat under a shade tree. tin mackerel, boil dumpling, an apple and a whole lot of water. ate slowly. thought about nothing in particular. except maybe about how good the sun felt on my skin. jus' chilled. with a lunch that tasted like jamaica. perfection.

very proud of myself.

What's boiled dumbling made from? Is it like chinese dumplings (meat wrapped in doughy bread)?

Dumplings (boiled and/or fried) are a Jamaican staple. I can't remember offhand exactly what chinese dumplings look like. The doughy bread part sounds about right tho. Except that it's not stuffed with anything. It's just a dough made of flour, salt and water that's then boiled...in more water. Very simple, but when paired with the right things (basically any kind of savoury food item) very good.

Hey though...i was looking for you yesterday at midweek (i have no idea which one you go to...i go to owings mills) because i wanted to give you something. As it turns out I didn't have the something with me anyway so i guess it all balances out :). How you been?

Aww sorry, I wouldn't have been at that one anyway. Kind of far for me, when the Owen Brown Center is so much closer. I didn't go anyway because I was just so out of it after work, I didn't feel safe driving there, and it slipped my mind to ask Mary if she'd drive me.

I've been alright. The book Nick suggested just arrived today so I'm going to go through it all day tomorrow before devo. So excited to start digging into the Bible!

yow...if it wasn't for the nostalgic high i was on that very likely would have happened. anywho, i'm planning on baking bagels some time soon. the jump in thoughts isn't that random....apparently you have to boil bagels before you bake 'em....there's a method to the madness.
