The Third Thursday

So due to zee "economic crisees" (say that in your best French accent) my employer has decided to reduce my work week to four days down from five. They've decided to take that step in order to avoid having to layoff anyone. The theory is "everyone suffers a little bit so that no one person has to suffer alot". I approve of that theory, gots no beef with that theory. But still, I'm down to working four days a week, which means that I'm also down to four days a week worth of salary.

Yes.

RIghto.

Yes.

This is one of the best things that has ever happened to me!!!

Probably not what you were expecting to hear, but boy is it the truth. They're going to have hell and powder house trying to get me back on a five day work week if and when this crisis lifts (assuming my job survives of course...ain't nothing sure except God these days...which is pretty much "as usual" I guess). Thursdays are now officially Kayonne Day - the day that I focus on me. My goals, my visions, my dreams. Thank God for Kayonne Day!! Right now I'm figuring out - in a tangible, action oriented way - what it is that I want to do with my life. Once that's done I'll flesh out a plan as to how I'm going to go about doing it and, once the plan is complete, I'll START. Start. Would you look at that. I've never taken the time to stop and really think and act on this. For so long its been busy busy busy doing this, doing that and getting nowhere. Brownian Motion on a Kayonne sized scale. But now I am stopping, I am thinking, I am starting. Man...I plan on doing that and more. But not too much more - I'm not going to fall back into the same trap that I'm working towards freeing myself from.

Four day work week. Hallelujah, praise the LORD!!
