BEACHSTOCK baby!! cont'd

"I had TWO!!" - Jimmy re: s'mores. Now I know why they don't let the boy loose around the sugar....

So yeah...where was I ...Oh yeah! That spider was HUGE dude. Yeah I know I'm continuing this three weeks later...where have I been? Who are you, my mother?!?

:D

Hi Mommy!!

Anywho. Yeah man that spider was large. And fleshy. And PALE. He was like some kinda white, albino spider or sumn. I dunno. But I was talking about Friday, and we really actually didn't see spidey until Saturday night when we were trying to light the grill. But yeah...Friday:

I've got the attention span of a gnat I tell you.

Friday (cont'd)

After we got the tents set up, we decided to go back to the main registration area to see if anything interesting was going on out there. On the way we see some B'more brothers at their campsite and they've got the grill going, they're making s'mores, eating chips, drinking soda. So of course we stop and get some of that action :). Molten marshmallows and chocolate, can't beat that for nutritional content. So yeah, chilled for a while with them then we all headed out to the main area.

By the time we got there it was getting dark. We saw Chudi, and probably some other folks but since it's now three weeks later I've forgotten who :(. But whoever else was there pointed out that I'd lost my name tag...this is important because you had to have the nametag to eat. So I moseyed back over to the registration tables to see if I could finagle another one out of the goodly folks who were over there holding down the fort. If you know anything about my church you know how easily conversations start up between people regardless of whether they've ever met or not. Especially at conferences. That's just the way we roll 'pparently. I mean, hey, look at Natural Wildlife. Luckily for me the section of the table that I was at was right next to an igloo of Gatorade. Very handy. While chilling by the igloo I met these two sisters from Philly. I forget the name of the one girl (3 weeks!!) but the other one was named Nicole. Got to talking with N...which is funny...because of the two of them, she was the one with laryngitis. Go figure. We talked for a while. Very quietly. Then I headed back to find my original group, nametag in tow. Found 'em . Music was playing under the big tent...lot's of people. They played this song that I have never heard before (and haven't heard since) but that apparently everyone else had because the crowd went wild. 'Twas rather hype. It was a whole lot of fun, which is odd b/c anyone who knows me knows that kayonne doesn't dance :). They locked down shop shortly after that and sent us all packing with 'subtle' reminders of the sunrise prayer the following morning.

So we get back to the tent and R., T., M., and B. call it a nite. But me, Aisha and DeeAnn are focused. We'd decided beforehand that we were going to light up some coals and cook up some hot dogs and what not. We'd even managed to score a can of lighter fluid from Big Mike, so yeah. Of course non of us knew quite how to make fire, but we'd never let ignorance stop us before...why start now? Yeah, 'bout two hours, twenty matches and half a can of lighter fluid later we managed to get the coals glowing
